November 2008, DayOut.ie was proud to be a headline sponsor at the Hibernian Infant & Maternity awards held in the Burlington, Dublin. DayOut.ie sponsored the Best Family Day Out category, receiving Nationwide media coverage.

Sept 2008, Miss Ireland Sinead Noonan launches the DayOut.ie 'MyDay' Travel Planner to National Press and Media in Dublin.

  • This unique social networking feature allows online users to custom build a day out planner, based on activities of their choice in the DayOut site, which can then be saved online and shared with family and friends, as well as other DayOut.ie users.
  • Using any start point in Ireland, the MyDay Travel Planner will auto build route directions to all activity venues included in the planner, as well as providing a graphical map guide for easy reference. Users can upload images and add comments for each venue, making it a great feature to share online.

Sept 2008, within 1 year of launching and amongst stiff competition, DayOut.ie was Shortlisted for the Best Travel & Tourism web site at the Eircom Golden Spider awards.

DayOut.ie is now recognised by Failte Ireland, the Northern Ireland Tourist Board as well as National and regional tourism bodies including Dublin Tourism, the National Play Resource Centre and other organisations.
