Northside Music Festival 2011Dublin City Council's Arts Office is delighted to present the Northside Music Festival 2011 which will take place across north Dublin city from the 1st to 18th of August.

Now in its 5th year, The Northside Music Festival offers a range of free summertime musical events around the northside of the city.

The festival provides access to live music, bringing a rich array of Irish and international talent as well as a diverse assortment of music to local communities from uplifting African percussion to calming classical and from soulful jazz to toe tapping trad.

Packed with live music and fun galore The Northside Music Festival 2011 guarantees to be a celebration that all the family will enjoy!

This year's exceptional music programme will be held in distinctive settings such as city parks, community centres, churches and civic spaces that will strengthen existing audiences and encouraging new audiences to come along.

With a stunning line up including, The Oxo Boys Stringband, The Dublin Guitar Quartet, Celtic Rose, Beoga and Andreas Varady Trio to name but a few, The Northside Music Festival 2011 is not to be missed. With the kind support of The Arts Council, this year's festival will feature more family orientated events with three concerts by the WhistleBlast Quartet and the Speks specifically for children with along with an exciting workshop programme lead by Wassa Wassa Drum Collective for youth groups across the city.

The aim of these workshops is to directly engage young talent with the highest level of professional expertise while celebrating inter-cultural activity taking place across the city. There really is something for everyone with a range of musical talent across a range of musical cultures.
