The streets of Galway will leap into life this June Bank Holiday weekend, with the arrival of the Galway Power Boat Festival, which runs from the 5th - 12th of June 2010.
A host of extreme racing events with live commentary will keep viewers on the edge of their seats, as Salthill provides a perfect viewing point for the P1 Superstock Championships, the start and finish of the inaugural ‘Around Ireland Offshore Powerboat Race', and P750 racing, which will all undoubtedly be highlights of the on-water activity.
Aside from action packed racing on the bay, Galway will rock the docks again as we kick off the summer festival season in earnest. The festival race village will be open to the public from 10am- 10.30pm and each night will see a full, free music line up from the centre pier, showcasing the best of local and national talent. Over 20 acts are scheduled to appear over the 8 day festival, including Crystal Swing, the Cartoon Thieves, Black Magic Band, the Timber Tramps and Joe Furey and The Hayride.
Festival food and craft markets will offer a fantastic range of choice, whilst those seeking a thrill will be able to turn their attention to the various simulators and amusements which will be on-hand to entertain the crowds.
There will be family fun a plenty during this fantastic free event, for full details of the festival line up, or for more information, please visit our website at http://www.aroundireland.org
