On September 11, 2001, New York City was shaken to its core when two jet airliners crashed into the twin towers of the World Trade Centre. In the wake of the chaos, New York-based Irish photographer Nicola McClean responded in the only way she knew how; she picked up her camera and took to the streets to try and capture the confusion and panic that surrounded her.
Ground Zero 360˚ portrays the story of September 11th and the days immediately following, from the unique perspectives of a New York City police commander and a photojournalist. This exhibition features large scale, previously unpublished photographs, original police radio calls, and artifacts from the World Trade Center. Visitors can also reflect and share their own thoughts and memories of that day. Commemorate the valor and the fortitude of a city and a nation in Ground Zero 360˚.
Irish photographer Nicola McClean was in New York on 9/11 and captured many moving images as the tragedy unfolded. She talks here to Barry Egan about her special tribute to the victims
