Nokia Ireland is delighted to announce the launch of ‘Apps for Ireland', a competition that encourages ordinary people to come up with simple ideas for applications for Nokia mobile phones.
To celebrate the launch of ‘Apps for Ireland', Nokia is bringing over leading French video artists, Digital Slaves, to stage six nights of video projections onto the Bank of Ireland College Green, Dublin 2.
Starting on Friday 12th March and running on the hour, every hour from 8.00pm to 11.00pm for six nights, culminating on the night of St Patrick's Day, Digital Slaves will project ten minutes of cutting edge video footage onto this landmark building.
Dublin has never seen the like before and local DJ Arveene has been commissioned to create a bespoke soundtrack that will synch with the HD 4D projections.
Apps for Ireland is a nationwide competition to find the best application ideas in Ireland. The competition, which will run for eight weeks from 12th March to 7th May 2010, is broken up into three categories consisting of a sports app, a lifestyle app which will cover fashion, music, social and culture and a general app, to cover everything else.
